On Wed 1/10 we had a visitor, Grant, who had expressed an interest in taking the exam. Over a cup of coffee, Grant indicated he was up with the study, so when asked would he like to try the exam right now, he agreed. We quickly printed off a paper and within 20 minutes of supplying it, Martyn and Dave were marking the answer sheet. No problem there – a result of 56/60, so Grant set about chosing a callsign and the paperwork was completed. We are just waiting to hear of the issued callsign. Congratulations Grant from all of us a Musick Point! Grant is keen to get involved in QRP CW !

Update: Grant now has the callsign ZL1KGD !

And what’s with the battery?

Well, while the exam was taking place, Harry installed a pair of 100Ah batteries, that we have recently been donated, in one of the cabinets in the battery room. Now we have a pic of the batteries – but for those who like cats as much as batteries, we’ll keep the cat photo as well…

Two little batteries in one small corner of 1 of the 4 battery cabinets!
Still 200Ah is a good start!
