So what is there in common with Harry clearing up leaves and Rob fiddling around in the back of his vehicle? Read on and all might be revealed. Firstly, Rob demonstrated the one person easy lift antenna pole – designed to make the one person POTA trip a doddle. Well maybe not a doddle; that would be boring, so Rob slightly modified things…

What started out as a humble concrete float pole ( keep in mind Harry sweeping the concrete… ), wasn’t enough for “Bigger is Better” Rob, so with the addition of some thinwall alloy tubing, the height grew. Given the relatively light construction, Rob decided on two levels of guy ropes.

So after the pole dancing, there was a final sweep through the garage for anything useful that people wanted and then more throw outs from the main building were sorted. We had a visitor keen on obtaining his license and he was still keen after Dave ZL1DL had a 2 hr chat with him! Weather permitting, Maurice will bring a trailer on Monday to move some recycling to the scrap dealers.

As usual, some serious discussions were had over coffee. And the connection between sweeping up leaves and Rob rooting around in the back of his vehicle? None whatsoever ( but you read this whole article, didn’t you? ).
