As part of the ongoing reduction of years of accumulated “could be handy but never actually gets used” valuable equipment, Martyn, Maurice and Dave moved some of the heavier items on Monday 17/6, to transport them to a recyclers. Some of the smaller batteries, which were actually quite hard to handle, in that they are definitely not spillproof in design and have no edges to offer a grip for lifting, were carefully moved to Martyn’s trailer. A dozen batteries were disposed of; this probably represents less than 1/4 by weight of the total to go. Several old transformers of a design one would be reluctant to apply power to, were also loaded on, and the visit to the scrap dealer resulted in a worthwhile sum for the club funds.

On Wednesday, a bin arrived in the carpark. In short order it was half loaded with more recycling; on Thursday it will be topped up with the contents of the garage.
